Environmental monitoring results from the river Deben.

The Environment Agency have advised against swimming in the Deben at Waldringfield due to a current pollution situation.

As a result of recent significant sewage releases in the River Deben, Deben Climate Centre (DCC) and the University of Suffolk (UoS) have collaborated to install a remote testing machine at a secret location on the Deben.

Our testing team has uncovered another pollution incident at Melton/Woodbridge with dangerously high levels of E.coli.

On Monday 21st July some of our water testing team talked to Channel 5 News reporter Catherine Jones about the state of the Deben.
